Consulate’s Seminar on cultural Rouanet Law – March 22

Please be informed that the Royal Norwegian Consulate General will host a seminar on the 22nd of March from 1630 to 1930 hrs on “Lei Rouanet”, which regulates how businesses can contribute to cultural institutions and programs and then receive tax reduction on the support.

NORWEGIAN PAVILION, NAVALSHORE, 1ST – 3RD AUGUST

For the third time NME will host a Norwegian pavilion on Navalshore. The size is 97 sqm, bigger than the last two years. The show will be bigger than last year, and we have been given a better position than the last two years. As in 2011, we will co-operate with Innovation Norway in Rio to ensure good service and probably a reception.

New Seamen’s Church in Rio de Janeiro?

After months of search for a suitable place, one place near the Corcovado train station stands out. Big enough and with a huge potential. We are now in a process to gain a permission to use the premises as a “Sjømannskirke”. Lorinvest, The Lorentzen family in Rio, Statoil, Aker Solutions and other companies are in with substantial support to the project. However, we still need supporters to land the project.

Brazilian exports to Norway increased 31% in 2011 to USD 944 million. Imports of Norwegian goods grew 14% to USD 800 million. Total bilateral trade reached USD 1.74 billion, against USD 1.42 billion in 2010.
